If These Walls Could Talk: a History of Woodbury & St. Paul’s Church

The 1740 founding of St. Paul’s in Woodbury led to formation of the Episcopal Church in America. History Day at St. Paul’s will explore that founding and its significant impact on the Town of Woodbury itself as well as the early American Episcopacy.

“We will talk about the formation of St. Paul’s and the American Episcopal Church, how the church affected the Town itself and its growth, and the architecture of our historic building and grounds,” said Mariana Daniels, a St. Paul’s parishioner and one of the organizers of History Day.

Joining Daniels for the illustrated presentation will be St. Paul’s own Archivist Lois Zane, parishioner Wrey Trompeter, and ministerial intern Tom McMorran.  

History Day at St. Paul’s will take place on Sunday, Sept. 27 from 2:30-4:00 pm.  The public is invited, and there will be a light reception after the presentation.
