Thank you to everyone that worked so hard to make a magical “Music of the Night” fundraiser this past weekend, especially to our Fundraising Committee: Yvette Allen-Iomaro, Sharon Donnelly, Kathleen Montgomery, Karen Nash. The team was led by co-chairs Beth Pile and Gale Bay, who, along with her husband Gerry, opened up her beautiful home and collection for the event.  Because of the generosity of our community, “Music of the Night” raised over $12,000 to support the mission and ministries of St. Paul’s Church! 

Thank you also to our generous donors: Gale and Gerry Bay, Peter and Betty Lou Bowles, and Cynthia Zinser, for offering beautiful prizes for our live auction. Thanks as well to the many local businesses who shared gift cards and merchandise for our silent auction. 

Finally, thanks to our ministerial intern Tom McMorran who did a great job as our live auctioneer! 

What a joy it is to see our community work together to create a delightful and memorable evening.

A Place to Belong Campaign: Building Belonging
Construction Continues!

Exciting things are happening at St. Paul's! Construction continues on our Place to Belong project.

While there may be a little extra noise and a few temporary inconveniences in the coming months, each step brings us closer to creating a warm, welcoming, and accessible gathering space for our parish and community.

We are grateful for your patience and your continued prayers for everyone involved in the project. We'll continue to share updates as construction progresses.

Together, we're building more than a space—we're creating a place where everyone belongs.

Pictures: Painting has begun on the Pearson Room restroom! Meanwhile, tiling has begun in the back of the kitchen and creative use space in the Lower Hall.

• Exterior Renovation Update: Work on the entry pad continues. Thank you for continuing to use the side entrance to the Parish Hall during construction.

Thanks so much to Lydia Strauss-Edwards for overseeing this project with Earth Tones Nursery; to our property committee members: Marianne Daly, Russ Depace, and Jeff Leavenworth; and to our sexton, Ron Crowcroft, who continues to assist with making the parish as safe and accessible as possible during construction.

These weekly updates are part of our A Place to Belong campaign renovations. The campaign includes: Total renovation of our Lower Hall, including: flooring, ceilings and LED lighting, window repair, mini-splits, food preparation and creative use space renovation, adding accessibility ramps, bathroom renovations (including ADA restroom), appliances, and furnishings; Upstairs renovations including: Bathrooms near the Pearson Room (including ADA restroom), new flooring from the entryway, throughout the Pearson Room and extending to the Seabury Room; new ceiling and LED lighting, painting throughout including both stairways, and new furnishings.

• TAG SALE – BAKE SALE To Benefit Camp Washington

  • Donate your GOOD items for Camp to sell- no baby toys, electronics, or junk please. Only vintage or clothing in excellent shape will be accepted- We are looking for good, vintage, antique, saleable and high-end items to sell.

  • Donation drop-off dates were: July 24-25 10am-2pm only (No pick-up service available)

  • Also- Calling ALL Bakers! We are looking for bakers to bake for us! Drop off goodies Friday, July 31st 12:00 pm-5:00 pm

• Short-term Host Family Needed: Camp Washington is looking for a host family for our Prov IX counselor guest, Andrea from Honduras. She is a lovely young woman, easy to spend time with, sweet and kind! Part of the Camp Counselor program is offering a weekend of cultural immersion post Camp to include church visit (sharing summer experience) great food and fun: the theater, movies, music/sports events, etc., local destinations/highlights, and more. 
  We need a host family for Andrea for the weekend of 8/15-8/18. Interested? Reach out to Bart Geissinger ASAP!

• An Urgent Message about our Little Free Pantry- Our Little Free Pantry is being used heavily right now — about 75–90% of the food is gone every two days. The large donation that recently filled our shelves has now mostly been distributed to neighbors in need, and supplies are running low again. Click here to learn more!

Professional Nursery Care is on hiatus for the summer. Our beloved childcare worker, Nicole, will be back with us on Sunday, September 13th. Parents and caregivers are welcome to make use of the nursery during services and parish events.

Youth Group meetings in August will follow our regular schedule: August 5 & 19, 6pm-8pm. We will continue to create and study a timeline of social justice needs and movements. Incoming sixth graders, get ready!! We look forward to welcoming our newest middle schoolers at a special dinner in September! Plans are underway! A Note from Rev. Tuesday: 

Dear Friends, 

I wanted to let you know that our Parish Administrator, Hannah Berg, has resigned from St. Paul’s to explore the next part of her journey. We wish her well, and appreciate the gifts she has shared with our parish during her time with us. 

The Human Resources & Personnel Committee - Tom Calkins, Bart Geissinger, Lisa Groody, Pam Lehman, Jasmine Mosman, and myself - are evaluating the changed and changing needs of our parish. We will be rewriting the job description for the Parish Administrator position before we begin the hiring process. We will keep the congregation updated about our progress in the weeks ahead.

In the meantime, St. Paul’s continues to work with our consultants at Ministry Architects, especially Chelsea Young, communications@stpaulswoodbury.org, who creates our leaflets and weekly newsletter. We are grateful to Christine DeCrescenzo who has been faithfully volunteering in our office each week to help keep things running smoothly. 

As we prepare for the return of Church School, Jasmine Young and Katie Syombathy will be working with me to maintain the standard of programming that we have established in the past two years. We look forward to sharing what’s next as we get closer to the start of the school year.
