Important Update: Parish House Entrance Temporarily Closed for Construction

In order to install the new outdoor entry pad and lamp post, our main Parish Hall entrance will be closed until the construction is complete. Please enter the Parish House through the Office Stairway Door, near the Seabury Room. Ushers will be on hand to assist those with mobility needs until the new entry pad is complete.

Woodbury Pride, June 28th 11:30-1:30 on the North Green

On Sunday, June 28th St. Paul’s Church will join with other members of the Woodbury Community to celebrate Pride Month. Everyone is encouraged to come to church dressed fabulously. After church, everyone is invited to join the festivities on the North Green at 11:30. There will be music, celebration, and speakers, including the keynote speaker, Rev. Tuesday! 

LGBTQ+ Pride promotes the rights, self-affirmation, dignity, equality, and increased visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people. The word Pride does not mean arrogant or boastful; rather it is a rejection of shame and stigma, a reclaiming of dignity and self-worth, and an affirmation of intrinsic value. 

As Episcopalian Christians, we support the lives, loves, and rights of all people, including those on the LGBTQ+ spectrum. We believe that we are all “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14). All people are made in the perfect image and likeness of God, without exception. 

We hope you will join us on June 28th to celebrate, affirm, and make visible our support for all of God’s fabulously beautiful children!

This week lots of progress has been made on the upstairs bathrooms! Yesterday the floor tiling started. 

In the coming weeks, we will also begin construction on the entry into the Parish House. The entry pad leading from the sidewalk to the Parish House door will be replaced. We are also installing a handicap accessible door later in the fall. The post which supports the door button will be installed in the next several weeks. The door and entryway projects are separate from the A Place to Belong campaign work, but will be happening at the same time. 

You Are All Invited! America 250 with IRIS. As part of the broader America 250 commemoration happening across the city over the July 4th weekend, IRIS will be celebrating 250 Years of Welcoming Immigrants, Democratic Governance, and Civil Liberties. We will be partnering with Arts Council of New Haven, the ACLU of CT and the League of Women Voters/CT.

This event will take place on July 3rd from 10 am–2 pm at the IRIS downtown office at 323 Temple Street in New Haven.

Activities will include a citizen advocacy workshop (register on the IRIS website), an art exhibit and craft fair, a film screening, a citizenship test challenge, voter registration, and our interactive “250 Immigrant Stories Project,” where community members contribute and share their stories. There will also be kids' activities, food for purchase, and music and live entertainment from around the world. We are hoping to create a welcoming, family-friendly event that brings together immigrants, local residents, organizations, and partners from across Connecticut.

• An Urgent Message about our Little Free Pantry- Our Little Free Pantry is being used heavily right now — about 75–90% of the food is gone every two days. The large donation that recently filled our shelves has now mostly been distributed to neighbors in need, and supplies are running low again. Click here to learn more!

Professional Nursery Care is on hiatus for the summer. Our beloved childcare worker, Nicole, will be back with us on Sunday, September 13th. Parents and caregivers are welcome to make use of the nursery during services and parish events.
